Elizabeth Ackerman

Accent/Communication Skills Coach

My name is Elizabeth, and I love everything about the human voice. I particularly enjoy helping people to build new vocal habits that allow them to speak more clearly, confidently, and easily.

I was educated at UC Berkeley and UCLA, have over 20 years of experience as an ESL teacher, and am also a professionally trained singer. I study voice with the great tenor and opera coach Michael Trimble, and have studied speech with one of the world's leading voice coaches, Patsy Rodenburg, Director of Voice at the Guildhall School in London. I have also been certified in the Compton P-ESL training method by the Institute of Language and Phonology in San Francisco.

My background gives me a unique and empathetic understanding of what it takes to learn new vocal habits and make them your own.

As the voice gets freer and easier, confidence grows naturally, and limitations disappear.

"I love what I do, because I am helping people to free themselves, and to explore their full potential."

About the Coaching

The training is designed for professionals with a high degree of fluency in English, but with native language speech patterns that make it difficult for others to understand them.

I help you to build new and correct muscle memory, increasing the clarity, confidence and ease of your speech. Each lesson is fun and specific: designed to support your individual needs and goals.
